Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026 • Prepared for independent Philippine civic-tech compliance
1. Information We Collect
Ayos Bayan collects only the information necessary to document and locate community hazards:
- Public Report Data: Issue category, title, description, approximate geographic coordinates, municipality, barangay, and uploaded hazard photographs.
- Optional Reporter Information: Name, email address, and phone number if voluntarily provided.
- Technical Logs: Hashed IP addresses (used exclusively for rate limiting and duplicate confirmation spam prevention) and browser user-agent headers for security audit logs.
2. How Personal Data is Isolated
Private contact details (email and phone number) are strictly decoupled from public report APIs. When a visitor browses the map or inspects an issue, reporter contact information is filtered on the server and is never transmitted over the wire to unauthenticated clients.
3. Photo Evidence & Metadata Stripping
When photos are uploaded, file names are scrambled with randomized cryptographic hashes. We encourage users not to upload photos showing private faces, private vehicle license plates, or interior residential properties without consent.
4. Data Subject Rights & Takedown Requests
In compliance with the principles of the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), residents may request correction, anonymization, or complete removal of any report containing their personal data or private property. To request a takedown, contact privacy@ayosbayan.ph with the report reference identifier.
